The eyes of the world are on him as he stands trial for involuntary manslaughter.
So perhaps Dr Conrad Murray simply wants to look his best in front of the cameras.
The 58-year-old was spotted stocking up on expensive ties and shirts by Italian designer Ermenegildo Zegna in the menswear department of Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills this week.

While he was shopping for sharp designer business wear, Murray was dressed down in a black T-shirt and khaki shorts, and carried an iPad with him.
Dr Murray is expected back in court today for the trial over the death of Michael Jackson, which is expected to last up to another four weeks. But the stressful court appearances didn't seem to be playing too heavily on his mind and he laughed and joked around with his companions inside the department store.
